Competitions

At Dance-Beat we are involved in a variety of competitions and shows. The competitions allow the students to participate in a competitive but fun activity within the school. It is also a chance for them to dress in competition costume and is suitable for the new dancer up to the most experienced dancer.

The students take pride in their work and the competitions give them the opportunity to celebrate their achievements.

There are ‘area medallist’ competitions and ‘Grand Finals’ day events where Dance-Beat pupils are given the chance to compete against the highest levels of other ISTD pupils across the country.

Many pupils have since progressed and are now successful in professional dance careers.

Pupils compete with great success in the ISTD Medallist Competitions.

Shows

We run successful and very professional shows once every two years and all our students are encouraged to participate and are trained in many aspects of dance.

The shows are held at very prestigious venues such as The Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage and The Weston Auditorium in Hatfield. The shows also give a great opportunity for families and friends to come and enjoy what the students have learned throughout their time at Dance-Beat.

They also provide a fantastic opportunity for children to work hard to rehearse and perform giving a great sense of pride and achievement!

Events

We provide all of our pupils the chance to take part in many events throughout the year. Over the last year we have performed in a Flash Mob for Stevenage Borough Council, performed at a local care home, provided displays for many schools and village fetes across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire and performed at the WGC Christmas lights switch on!
